An Osteopathic Physician (DO) is a fully licensed medical doctor who emphasizes a holistic approach to healthcare. This means they consider the entire body and its interconnected systems when diagnosing and treating patients. DOs use techniques such as osteopathic manipulative treatment (OMT) to relieve pain, improve mobility, and enhance the body’s natural healing processes. They focus on treating the patient as a whole, addressing physical, emotional, and lifestyle factors rather than just isolated symptoms. By promoting overall wellness and disease prevention, DOs aim to support long-term health. Practicing in various settings, including hospitals, clinics, and private practices, DOs make a significant impact on the community by providing comprehensive, patient-centered care that enhances both physical and emotional well-being.
