- For IT Manager I, II, and III positions, five to seven years of progressively responsible professional IT experience are needed. This experience should include project management, quality assurance, and roles in computer operations, systems administration, network administration, database administration, or applications analysis and development. Additionally, two years of this experience must be in a supervisory or project manager capacity.
- To become a Chief IT Manager, eight years of progressively responsible professional IT experience are required. This should involve strategic planning, project management, quality assurance, and roles in computer operations, systems administration, network administration, database administration, applications analysis and development, or information security. Five years of this experience must be in a supervisory or project manager capacity.
