Scholarships and Loan Repayment Assistance Are Currently Available!

Nurses provide patient care, administer medications, and collaborate with healthcare teams to promote and maintain the health of individuals across diverse settings. The job outlook for nursing is expected to grow by 6% between 2021-2031.

Salary Range

$45,000 – $120,000/year
Nevada Registered Nurses (RN) earn 7% higher than the national average salary for RNs at an average of $82,750.

Education

Associate Degree, Bachelor’s Degree, Licensure

Timeframe

Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)- 2 years
Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)- 4 years to become a Registered Nurse (RN)
Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) – 6 years to become an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN)

Eligible funding period: through December 31, 2025, or up to successful completion of the enrolled program, whichever comes first.
The purpose of this scholarship is to develop and enhance the nursing workforce to address unprecedented medical workforce shortages through providing scholarships to eligible Nevada Registered Nurses to enter a nationally accredited APRN program.
- The scholarship may include the cost of tuition, fees, and other approved education materials.
Eligible students must meet and understand the following requirements:
- Be on track to graduate no later than December 31, 2025 OR, if the student graduates after December 31, 2025, it is understood that they will only receive funds for tuition, fees and supplies during the eligible funding period.
- Students must be unemployed, underemployed, or currently employed and seeking to move to a job that provides better economic advancement, such as higher wages or more opportunities for career advancement, or at or below 300% of the Federal Poverty Guidelines.
- By accepting any amount of funds from this scholarship program, agree to work in Nevada for a minimum of 3 years upon graduation.
- Must comply with requests for reporting to the Department of Child and Family Services for 3 years upon graduation regarding the location and nature of work.
- Applications will be submitted internally once accepted into the program. Survey for interest will be sent out by their track leader each Fall semester.

Nurse Corps Loan Repayment Program

The Nurse Corps Loan Repayment Program provides loan repayment to nurses who serve at least two years at a critical shortage facility in a high need area or accredited school of nursing in U.S. state or territory.

By serving for two years, you would receive up to 60% of your unpaid nursing education debt. If you serve a third year, you could receive up to 85% of your unpaid debt. The Nurse Corps Loan Repayment Program application will open soon!

Prepare to Apply:

Step 1: Find out if you’re eligible.

A. You must be a:

Licensed registered nurse;
Advanced practice registered nurse, such as a nurse practitioner; or
Nurse faculty member

B. You must have received your nursing education from an accredited school of nursing

C. You must currently work full-time in or have an offer letter from:

An eligible critical shortage facility in a high need area (RNs, APRNs)
An accredited school of nursing
