A doula is trained to support people of childbearing capacity physically, emotionally, and informatively during and after they’ve had a baby. This field provides opportunity for labor or postpartum doulas, infant feeding educators, lactation consultants, childbirth educators, and other positions in advocacy and leadership. Doula is a great career choice for those interested in maternal and child health and making a difference in expectant parents’ lives.
Salary Range
- $39,000 – $66,000/year
Education
- 4 hrs. of NCB approved training in Trauma Informed Care
- 6 hrs. of NCB approved training in cultural competency/humility
- 1 hr. of NCB approved training in HIPAA
- NCB approved foundational birth doula training.
